In my experience, spatial audio plugins have become crucial tools for anyone working in modern audio production. These spatial tools offer a sense of depth and immersion that can't be achieved by standard stereo mixing. How To Use Spatial Audio Plugins In Your Music Production Projects

Using spatial audio plugins adds immersive depth to your work. Here’s a quick-start guide:

  1. Choose the Right Plugin: Select a plugin based on your project. For music destined for platforms like Apple Music, a binaural panner (like DearVR Pro) is perfect. For VR, 360-degree video, or Dolby Atmos mixes, an Ambisonics tool (like the Sennheiser AMBEO Orbit) is a better fit.
  2. Set Up in Your DAW: Load your chosen plugin as an insert on any audio track in your DAW (Logic Pro, Pro Tools, Reaper, etc.). This will give you direct control over that sound's position in 3D space.

I got started with DearVR Pro when I was working with spatial audio. It's great for use in a DAW, but it does have some limits in terms of automation, and it's way too complex to move the listening position. Also the software got bought by Dolby, you can continue to use it - but I would protect my projects now, and look for something else in case it gets fully discontinued.
